I had a conversation with myself the other day (don’t we all from time to time 😉?) and realised that in certain respects I still need to grow up properly. Not only take my life into my own hands, but first and foremost take responsibility for it! I should not wait for someone else to come and “save” me. I should not wait for someone else to point out the things that I need to be paying attention to, work on and change. It is of course helpful when someone identifies a certain behaviour that you have not been aware of before, as it is difficult to observe oneself objectively from the outside, but that is not what I mean. Rather, that we should not rely on our family that used to look after us when we were younger or other people to tell us how to take care of ourselves. We should not wait for others to tell us what we already know deep down but are too unconscious to acknowledge or possibly too afraid or even lazy to execute. So we decide (consciously or not) to simply close our eyes and to just wait for someone else to point it out to us. “After all, there are people that used to take care of me when I was younger, why would they suddenly stop? Surely they will tell me when there is something important that I should do.”

No, this is not the answer.

Only we have the answer.

So listen to your inner voice and act on it!

  1. Oh this is so good my dear! I love it! And as you can probably guess, it deeply resonates with me. Especially the last two sentences “only we have the answer. So listen to your inner voice and act on it!” – it’s exactly what I believe in!
